The Curator– Touching Memories Theater - In Hebrew

Monodrama inspired by the story of Zmira Abukasis (Ezmeralda Borbea)

Evening. A Yad Vashem curator documents the unpacking of artifacts prior to being transferred to their permanent location. But this evening, not only these packages will be opened: slowly but surely, a family saga will unfold before us, beginning with the Holocaust of the Jews of North Africa. This is a story spanning three generations, soon to be four: the grandmother, Zmira, and her unforgettable life journey from Tripoli to Italy, to Bergen-Belsen, back to Libya and then to Eretz Israel (Mandatory Palestine); her daughter; her granddaughter, the curator; and the baby daughter she is carrying. The latent voices in the clock that Zmira bought in Bergen-Belsen are invoked and resonate in the artifacts that include the belongings of Jews from the Giado camp, causing ripples in the life of a contemporary Israeli woman.

Directors: Yifat Zandani-Tzafrir, Daniel Zafrani
Actress: Dar Rosenbaum
Curators: Orly Ohana, Noa Or
